Combustion chambers and hot gas generators
HANS HENNIG disposes over many years of experience, professional competence and performance diversity in the designing and construction of combustion chambers which are applied in industrial hot gas generation as well as thermal post-combustion.
Steel combustion chambers by HANS HENNIG have been developed for thermal post-combustion as well as for generating process heat. You are on the safe side with our steel combustion chambers when it comes to cleaning contaminated process air. The utilisation of our counter-flow combustion chamber guarantees the highest efficiency at the lowest energy consumption. Our plants are designed according to your demands and individually manufactured. This ensures an optimum of adjustment to your process.
Advantages
- combustion chamber without lining promotes good firing results and a slag-free operation mode
- exact guidance of cooling gases; the combustion chamber wall is cooled on both sides whereby the flow keeps the exhaust gases away from it
Technical specification
- output range: 3.2 – 50 MW
- fuels: natural gases; fuel oils EL, M, S; lignite dust; wood sanding dust
- hot gas temperature: max. 600 °C
- cooling gas temperature: max. 140 °C
Ranges of application
- Steel combustion chamber for hot gas generation up to 600 °C for industrial drying processes
Combustion chambers made of fire-resistant ceramics by HANS HENNIG possess a high heat storage capacity. Using high-quality materials we ensure optimum efficiency degrees and a long service life for our combustion chambers. Thanks to the special ceramics we achieve a homogeneous combustion chamber atmosphere and maximum safety in the reaction zone. We develop and manufacture the high-efficiency lined combustion chambers for customer-specific applications such as e.g. for halogenated exhaust air.

Hot gas generators / Test rigs
Hot gas generators / test rigs by HANS HENNIG are applied for drying processes and hot gas generation in industry and research. We achieve the highest degree of utilisation and efficiency for our hot gas generators/test beds by means of rapid performance adaptation and minimum regulating times.
Description and application
The hot gas generator with refractory lined combustion chamber provides hot gas for industrial processes of all kinds. Depending on fuel, the application and the process demands these combustion chamber can placed in a horizontal or a vertical position.
Characteristics
Constructional characteristics:
|
Outstanding characteristics:
- No additional support fuel required when firing pulverized wood or lignite.
- high efficiency
- low maintenance
General
Capacity from 1.6 MW to 40 MW |
Hot gas temperature up to 1,200 °C |
By an appropriate selection of the refractory material and by optimizing the lining thickness it is possible to minimize heat accumulation which, for some applications, can influence the plant’s control behavior in a negative manner. At the same time, this helps to lower the purchasing price and reduce operating expenditure.

Application range
- hot gas generators for drying processes
- thermal incineration
Description and application
The hot gas generator is equipped with a steel combustion chamber and is suitable for heating huge process air flows to temperatures up to 750 ° C at low pressure loss <5 mbar.
The hot gas generators of the CKS series are characterized by a robust steel construction and can be integrated into the corresponding process both vertically and horizontally.
Using of process gases as dilution air allow energy-saving operation and reduction of the NOx emissions of the burner, so it should always be considered directly in the plant design.
