Monoblock burner: 18 Megawatt firing output for an asphalt mixing plant

„No other competitor can offer a Monoblock burner of this construction size and output“, explained Dr. Benedikt Roberg, Director of Hans Hennig GmbH.

To date, the Monoblock burner type CKM for Asphalt Mixing Plants, Boiler firing and hot gas generators has proven itself successfully. It is offered by Hans Hennig GmbH in four construction sizes from 2.7 to 15.5 MW maximum output for liquid and gaseous fuels. „Competitors can only offer up to 10 MW output“, reported Heinz Büte, Technical Sales for thermal engineering products in Hannover. Indeed, particularly in the range of asphalt mixing plants there is a great need for output. Practicality often demands special solutions.

Monoblock burner: 18 Megawatt firing output for an asphalt mixing plant

This is what one reacted to in Hannover and developed a new plant with 18 Megawatt firing output. It now sets new standards. Alone the combustion air blower of this customer-specific Monoblock burner wins with its dimensions of 1.4 x 1.3 x 1.4 meters, its mass of approx. 1,000 kg and the delivery rate of nearly 30,000 m³/h. The constructional changes required to house such a large blower at an asphalt mixing drum were carried out by connecting a T-piece with the combustion air blower. This now hangs in a downward position instead of projecting out to the rear, as is usual. By means of the blanked socket of the T-piece the burner remains freely accessible, without having to swivel the combustion air blower to one side. So, even the maintenance friendliness was improved.

The plant, which can be operated in gas as also in oil mode, has of course been manufactured as a combi-burner. The full load conversion per hour lies at approx. 2,000 m³ of natural gas or 1,800 litres of light fuel oil. The combustion air blower and the burner form here too a unit, which is typical for Monoblock burners. „All peripheral components such as the oil supply pump and the gas control train are integrated and included in the scope of supply at a complete price“, so Heinz Büte.

With monoblock burners, the combustion air fan is integrated into the burner.

The burner development however goes one step further: For even larger performance demands a further stage of expansion has already been planned. „In the event of an order one can so react to it quickly, for in a comparably short time we can get a Monoblock burner with an output of up to 25 MW ready for action“, explained Heinz Büte. Through the Gost Certificate the Körting Group is in a position to supply the Russian market with burners of this size. For each special requirement a custom-made burner system in excellent quality.
